Ambassador of Afghanistan to Tehran visits SBU President

According to the Public Relations office of Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), Dr. Nasir Ahmad Noor, Ambassador of Afghanistan to Tehran met with Dr. Seyed Hassan Sadough, President of SBU on Tuesday, January  2, 2018. The meeting was attended by Dr. Samad Hajjabari, Vice-president of Students Affairs, Dr. Amir Saeid Shirani, Director of International Academic Collaboration Office, and Dr. Mohammad Reza Ghalamboran, Director of International Students Office.

At the meeting, Dr. Sadough considered the academic relations as a good support for establishing political and economic relations between the two countries. He also considered the common border and language as an opportunity for developing wider communication and interaction. President of SBU wished the Afghan people honor, pride and success, and emphasized the deepening of the scientific cooperation between the two sides. Dr. Sadough outlined the areas of further interaction and cooperation between the two countries in academic and scientific fields, and presented his supportive views on creating a suitable ground for the study of Afghan students at Shahid Beheshti University.

Afterwards, Dr. Shirani introduced SBU and its facilities, and provided statistics on the number of foreign students, especially Afghan students studying at SBU. He expressed hope that more communication and interaction would be established with the universities of Afghanistan.


Thanking for the scientific cooperation and the opportunities provided by SBU for the study of Afghan students, the ambassador of Afghanistan discussed the development of bilateral scientific, academic and educational cooperation as well as the strategic opportunities and potentials in this regard. Then, he went on to discuss the issues of Afghan students.
