According to the Public Relations Office of Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), the Minister of Science of Bangladesh and the Secretary General of D8 Organization met the Minister of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Shahid Beheshti University on Monday, April 29, 2019. The meeting was attended by Dr. Seyyed Hassan Sadough, SBU President, and Dr. Salar Amoli, Deputy Minister of Science in International Affairs. Bangladesh's Minister of Science thanked the host of the Islamic Republic of Iran in a speech, saying: "We must pay attention to innovation and new issues. In 2008, it was planned that the elections will be held in Bangladesh digitally in 2021. Therefore, there is a fundamental need for infrastructure resources and attention to innovation.
Resources should be aimed at young people who can change society very quickly with their innovations. It can be useful for us to take advantage of your experiences in innovation in all fields. We are still at the beginning of the road and have little experience. Although we have established an aerospace university, we want to use your experience. In each province, we have established universities that have tried to focus on specialized topics such as agriculture or information technology. I hope that Iran's experience will bring closer the two countries." The Minister of Science of Bangladesh added: "The Islamic Ummah should be united and that it should work towards the growth and promotion of its society."

Dr. Gholami, Minister of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: "We have made a lot of efforts in Iran and our universities are trying to do their best." At the universities of Iran, there are many specialist professors by the efforts of whom knowledge-based companies are established and are developing and expanding. Thanks to the comprehensive development of knowledge-based companies in Iran, we are interested in the participation of neighboring countries as well as D8-member countries in this regard. Your presence in Iran can be the foundation of bilateral scientific relations. In addition to state-run universities, there are private universities in Iran that can help develop these relationships."
Dr. Gholami added: "We have tried to develop specialization in our universities. Bu-Ali Sina University is but one example. I'm sure this will be a good experience and you are the best in this regard. Introducing SBU briefly, Dr. Sadough invited the Bangladesh Minister of Science to visit the University's Central Laboratory. Then, the expansion of Persian language in Bangladesh was discussed.
