Shahid Beheshti University is one of the major and pioneer universities in development of scientific products and creation of innovative and practical courses in Iran. It has managed to play a major role in scientific and research development of industrial and non-industrial centers. The empowered faculties, departments and research institutes and the active Public Relations Office of the university have attracted the attention of scholars to these scientific centers. The University's vision statement is as follows: "In the horizon of 2025, Shahid Beheshti University is a leading university enjoying a superior position in production, education and publication of science, technology and knowledge. It is influential in shaping the future, and is a superior authority to meet the needs of education and research and to provide solutions to complex problems in national, regional and international areas. It is the first option of the superior talents, nurturing religious, creative, innovative, professional, efficient, faithful, pious and moral people".
Accordingly, Ekbatan Campus of Shahid Beheshti University was established with the approval of the Board of Trustees of Shahid Beheshti University and the permission of the Development Council of Sciences, Research and Technology Ministry, within the framework of Iranian Twenty-Year Vision Document, Iranian Comprehensive Scientific Map, economic, social and cultural development plans, other high-level documents in the area of Iranian higher education system as well as the university's strategic plan in the development of higher education with the aim of responding to the demands of Iranian and non-Iranian applicants, in order to participate in the training of specialists, to expand research, and to participate in the production of science and technology and the commercialization of quality research results and scientific findings that are competitive in the region and the world.
Ekbatan Campus has started its activities in Ekbatan town of Tehran since 2012, and currently admits students in more than 100 Master and 40 PhD programs. At present, it has more than 2,400 graduate students.
