16 faculty members of Shahid Beheshti University are among the highly cited Iranian researchers in the field of humanities and social sciences.
According to the report by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), 333 Iranian researchers in the fields of humanities, social sciences and art are among the highly cited researchers in a 10-year period (2011-2020).
The data was obtained by identifying a list of the highly cited authors in each field using software methods. In the next step, the disambiguation and homogenization of this list was done, which led to the identification of many people with the same name or the same people with different names. Researchers in each field were sorted according to the number of citations they had received, and then the highly cited researchers were considered scientific elites in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and arts based on the citation threshold. The criterion for selecting researchers in this list was the number of citations made to their scientific productions.
333 top Iranian researchers have been identified by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) and categorized in 16 subject areas of humanities, social sciences and art. It is worth noting that some researchers have obtained the necessary points in several subject areas, who are placed separately in the multidisciplinary area.
Accordingly, about 16% of these researchers belong to the multidisciplinary area. About 12% are business, management and accounting researchers. The subject areas of social sciences and educational sciences each have about 7% of researchers. The rest of the researchers are related to 13 other subject areas; namely, sociology and political science, psychology, economic sciences, language and linguistics, theology and Islamic education, historical sciences, language and literature, law, philosophy, geographical sciences, information science and knowledge, and art and architecture.
