Robotics team of SBU wins 1st place in IranOpen RoboCup 2022

The robotics team of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of SBU (Auriga) won the first place and the title of the best technical challenge in the 16th International Competition of IranOpen RoboCup 2022 in the Self-Driving Cars League.
The members of Auriga team include the following undergraduate students: Farbod Younesi, Mohsen Sharifi, Soroush Keyvanfard, Milad Rabiei, Marzieh Ghayur, Bahar Moadeli, Erfan Amouzadeh Khalili, Mohammad Ghodrati, Mana Hatamzadeh, Kiarash Ghasemzadeh, Darya Taghavi Nejad, Negar Talebi, Seyedeh Sareh Pour al-Hosseini, Mohammad Reza Jafari, and Amirreza Akramifard. Dr. Mohammad Hossein Moayeri, a member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, is in charge of this team.
RoboCup, or Robotics World Cup, is an international project to promote artificial intelligence and robotics knowledge. The World RoboCup Federation seeks to foster artificial intelligence research and intelligent robots by raising a standard issue whose scope calls for all available technologies to participate and test.
IranOpen RoboCup competition, which was held every year at the Tehran International Exhibition Center, was hosted by the Science and Research Branch of the Islamic Azad University in May this year after a two-year break (due to Covid-19 pandemic) with 800 participants.
