The book “Arbaeen: A Collection of Contemporary Arabic Poems” has been published for the first time, featuring a curated and translated selection of works by contemporary Arab poets on the theme of Arbaeen.
According to the Public Relations Office of Shahid Beheshti University, despite the abundance of literature on Ashura, no independent collection dedicated specifically to Arbaeen had been compiled until now. This book can therefore be considered the first structured publication in this field.
The anthology includes selected poems from various Arab countries, translated into Persian to introduce Persian-speaking readers to diverse literary perspectives on the phenomenon of Arbaeen. The editors have focused exclusively on classical Arabic poetry to provide a reliable resource for researchers.
This book has been prepared by Dr. Tayebeh Seyfi of Shahid Beheshti University and Dr. Narges Ansari of Imam Khomeini International University, and was published in November 2025 by Neyestan Adab Publishing.
