The book “Carbon Fibre from Lignin”, authored by Pratima Bajpai and translated by Dr. Iman Akbarpour, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Wood and Paper Engineering of Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, and Dr. Sima Sepahvand, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of New Technologies and Aerospace Engineering of Shahid Beheshti University, has been published by Shahid Beheshti University Press.
According to the Public Relations Office of Shahid Beheshti University, this book provides a comprehensive overview of the production and properties of carbon fibre derived from lignin. It introduces emerging pathways in the carbon fiber industry, optimized processes for producing high-purity lignin, and advanced methods for manufacturing high-quality carbon fibres .
Lignin, one of the most abundant biopolymers found in wood, plays a pivotal role in the development of novel bio-based technologies. Using lignin as a low-cost precursor for carbon fibre production can reduce manufacturing expenses by up to 50 percent, while contributing to lower environmental pollution, improved energy efficiency, and decreased dependence on fossil fuels.
Published in 2025 (1404 Iranian calendar), the book comprises 166 pages in paperback format and is priced at 1,500,000 IRR. It serves as a valuable reference for researchers, industry professionals, and students interested in advanced materials and carbon fibre technology.
Interested readers can obtain a print copy from the Scientific Publications Center of Shahid Beheshti University, located on the ground floor of the Information Technology Building, or place an online order through the center’s website. The electronic version of the book is also available via Fidibo and Taghche platforms.
