According to the newly released results of the QS Sustainability 2026 global rankings, Shahid Beheshti University has secured the first place among the 17 Iranian universities included in the list, and has ranked 712th globally out of 1,994 leading universities worldwide.
As reported by the university’s Public Relations Office, the QS Sustainability Rankings evaluate universities that excel in the areas of social, environmental, and institutional sustainability (ESG). These rankings are based on a set of specialized indicators designed to measure each institution’s capacity to respond to major global challenges.
Shahid Beheshti University’s performance in this edition shows a remarkable improvement compared to last year. In the 2025 ranking, the university placed sixth among 15 Iranian universities and was positioned in the 1251–1300 range globally.
This significant advancement in the 2026 edition reflects the university’s growing focus and commitment to sustainable development, social responsibility, and environmental improvement—efforts that position Shahid Beheshti University as one of the key contributors to shaping a sustainable future on national, regional, and international scales.
