International Students Office

The International Students Office (ISO) of SBU has been initiated in the Educational Vice-presidency for Education and Graduate Studies of the university to handle applicants’ admission processes since 2013. The ISO supports international students from first contact to successful graduation. The ISO acts as a liaison between the students and relevant university departments and offices to ensure a smooth visit and stay at SBU.

Application Process

1. Create an account via http://int.sbu.ac.ir/ and complete the online application form and attach the required supporting documentation to your application.             
2. The ISO pre-reviews the submitted forms and informs the applicants about acceptance or rejection of their application forms. In cases of incomplete forms, applicants can edit their application forms and send them again. Accepted forms will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and decisions will be made about the applicants who will later be informed about the results.       
3. Applicants who are admitted must contact the ISO for registration.
4. Applicants who are not Persian language speakers can register at the International Center for Persian Language Teaching of SBU which is among the most prestigious Persian language centers of the country.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for international students commencing in 2020-2021 have been approved as follows. The fees listed here will get a 10-20 % increase each year for those students starting from next academic years.

(Note: The tuition fees are in Iranian rial (IRR))

In general, tuition fees for the programs of the academic year 2020-2021 are as follows:

• Each BSc program (4 years), approximately 1,350,000,000 to 1,700,000,000 rials.
• Each master program (2 years), approximately 800,000,000 to 900,000,000 rials.
• Each PhD program (4 years), approximately 1,900,000,000 to 2,300,000,000 rials.

Notes:

Upon the discretion of the Board of Directors, SBU’s scholarship, which cuts up to 20% off the tuition fees, will be granted to applicants with the following conditions:

• Applicants from Islamic or neighboring countries will receive up to 15% discount on their tuition fee.
• Applicants coming from the same family, either by marriage or blood, will receive up to 15% discount on their tuition fee.
• Students of Persian and Iranology will receive up to 20% discount on their tuition fee.

Expenses:

The minimum resources needed for living at SBU per year may cost approximately $1,800 depending on your lifestyle, including accommodation, food, transportation and other expenditures (excluding tuition fees). This condition is for a single person accommodated in SBU’s campus and you should allow for increases in subsequent years. Your living expenses may be higher if, for instance, you stay at SBU during the vacations.
