The research article by the professor of Shahid Beheshti University was accepted for publication in the prestigious ACS Nano journal with an impact factor of 18.03.
This article, co-authored by Dr. Hossein Shahsavarani, a faculty member of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology of Shahid Beheshti University, is the result of an international research collaboration project by 16 people, including Dr. Peng-Yuan Wang from the Chinese National Academy of Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Ali Shokrgozar from Pasteur Institute of Iran and Javad Harati, a PhD student under Dr. Shokrgozar’s supervision.
This is the first time that a non-review article in the field of biology and basic cells with the participation of some Iranian researchers has been accepted for publication in ACS Nano.
The foregoing project is on the use of physicochemical factors for reprogramming and inducing direct differentiation of nerve cells. The results obtained from this study can have useful implications for future research on the nervous system and new treatments for brain-spinal cord injuries.
