Statement by Dr. Abtahi, Director of Academic and International Cooperation at Shahid Beheshti University, Following the Martyrdom of Several Nuclear Scientists of the University in a Brutal Attack by the Zionist Regime:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
With deep sorrow and profound shock, in the late hours of June 13, 2025, we witnessed an unprecedented and brutal crime committed by the Israeli regime. Five full professors from Shahid Beheshti University—each with over three decades of distinguished contributions to research, education, and the advancement of science in fields such as energy engineering and applied physics—were assassinated using explosive weapons.
In this heinous act of terrorism, not only were these esteemed scholars targeted, but also their spouses, children, and dozens of innocent civilians—including children from neighboring residential buildings—were either killed or severely injured.
We believe that condemning and raising awareness about such inhumane and barbaric acts is a moral responsibility of every awakened conscience, as well as the duty of global public opinion—particularly among academics, university staff, and students around the world.
We continue to hope and strive for the establishment of lasting peace and justice across the world.
Dr. Abtahi
Director of Academic and International Cooperation at Shahid Beheshti University
