
International Roundtable on “Nuclear Diplomacy: The Strategic Role of Iran, Russia, and China in a Changing Middle East” Held at SBU.
The Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Shahid Beheshti University, in collaboration with Tsinghua University of China, hosted an international roundtable entitled “Nuclear Diplomacy: The Strategic Role of Iran, Russia, and China in a Changing Middle East” on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The event featured prominent scholars and researchers in international relations from Iran, Russia, and China, including Dr. Liu Lanyu, Assistant Professor of Regional Studies at Tsinghua University (China), Dr. Adlan Margoev, Research Fellow at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Russia), as well as Dr. Mohsen Shariatinia, Dr. Alireza Nouri, and Dr. Heydar-Ali Masoudi, faculty members at Shahid Beheshti University (Iran).
The main focus of the roundtable was to examine the dimensions and implications of nuclear diplomacy in the context of geopolitical developments in the Middle East, and to explore the role of Iran, Russia, and China in redefining power dynamics in the region. The speakers emphasized the importance of multilateralism, strategic cooperation, and increased engagement among Asian countries in addressing regional and global security challenges.
The event was well-received by students and researchers and provided a valuable platform for scholarly dialogue and the exchange of perspectives among international relations experts.
