The first Symposium on Food and Pharmaceutical Products of Honey Bees was successfully held on February 5, 2025, at the International Conference Center of Shahid Beheshti University. The event was organized by the Bee Products Research Center of Shahid Beheshti University, in collaboration with the university's Research Vice-Presidency and the Iranian Nutrition Association.
Dr. Ahmadreza Mehrabian, the scientific secretary of the symposium, announced the news and stated that more than 250 experts, managers, and specialists from various fields, including beekeeping, ecology, nutrition, food industries, phytochemistry, plant medicine, pharmacy, medicine, commercialization, culture, and linguistics related to bee products, participated in the event.
A faculty member of the School of Biological Sciences and Technology added that the first Symposium on Food and Pharmaceutical Products of Honey Bees featured over 80 research papers, including 21 oral presentations and 65 specialized posters. The symposium also addressed challenges facing this industry.
