The book "A Critical Review of the Secularization of Religion in the Thought of Contemporary Syrian Reformists" by Dr. Rahim Dehghan, faculty member of the Faculty of Theology and Religions at Shahid Beheshti University, has been published.

This work was printed in the winter of 2024 (Iranian calendar year 1403) by the Al-Mustafa International Translation and Publishing Center, comprising 354 pages.

The book aims to analyze and critique the elements of secularism found in the thought of contemporary Arab reformist intellectuals of Syrian origin. Considering Syria’s significant intellectual and socio-political developments in modern times—and the emergence of scholars from this region who, intentionally or unintentionally, have presented secular interpretations of religion—this study offers valuable insights. It opens new perspectives for readers interested in understanding the secularist trends and intellectual orientations active in the Arab world today.

Previously, Dr. Dehghan had pursued a similar approach in his earlier publication titled Secularization of Religion in the Thought of Contemporary Egyptian Reformists, published in 2022 (Iranian calendar year 1401) by the same center, which examined the secularist perspectives of contemporary Egyptian thinkers.
