Business incubation program accelerates the successful development of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business support resources and services, developed or orchestrated by incubator management and offered both in the incubator and through its networks of contacts.
The goal is to produce successful firms that will leave the program financially viable and freestanding. The incubator graduates have the potential to create jobs and wealth, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize new technologies and strengthen local and national economies. With the increasing willingness of universities to contribute to societal economic development, a number of large universities in Iran have undertaken initiative steps toward commercialization of science and technology endeavor via foundation of technology units incubator. Therefore, catching up with these waves of universities’ policy, Shahid Beheshti University has founded SBU-TUI in January 2004 with high potential for acceptance and accommodation of units in a wide range of science and technology branches in incubation and pre-incubation units.
An incubator must provide management guidance, technical assistance and consulting tailored to young, growing companies. Incubators usually provide clients' access to appropriate rental space and flexible leases, shared equipment, technology support and assistance in obtaining the financing necessary for company growth.
SBU- TUI includes:
1- Incubation and pre-incubation research facilities, where start-ups will be located;
2- Rental facilities, where established firms will be located;
3- Research centers where large research centers affiliated with organizations and industries will be located;
