The robotics teams of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Communication) at Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) excelled in the 18th Iran Open RoboCup, winning first place in the autonomous robot, service robot at work, and quadcopter (Xerox UAV) categories. The teams that achieved these victories are:
1.    Autonomous Self-Driving Car Team (Auriga AV)
2.    Service Robot at Work Team (Auriga @Work)
3.    Quadcopter Team (Xerox UAV)
Under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Hossein Moayyeri, a faculty member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, these teams secured first place in the Iran Open RoboCup 2024 competition. Additionally, their success grants them a quota for participation in the RoboCup 2024 World Championship in the Netherlands.
RoboCup, also known as the World Cup of Robotics, is an international project aimed at advancing artificial intelligence and robotics knowledge. The global RoboCup federation standardizes problem-solving scenarios, encouraging participation and testing across a wide range of existing technologies. It also fosters research in artificial intelligence and intelligent robots.
The 18th Iran Open RoboCup took place on April 17-19, 2024 with over 1,800 participants and 316 teams, under the theme of “Learning, Glorius Future,” hosted by the Islamic Azad University Science and Research Branch.
